In 1981 Nissan Homologated 500 PA10 Nissan Violet GT's for Race and Rally. While normally the Violet PA10 came powered by the L20B. The GT model was fitted with Nissan's all new FJ20 engine fitted with twin 50S carbs and a close ratio gearbox. Which made a very potent combination. 
One of the most famous Rally Cars of all time is Shekhar Metha's East African Safari Rally record holding Violet GT.
